I have previously shared a long list of education podcasts I recommend. Some of these I listen to each time a new episode drops, and some I dip in and out of depending on the topic or who the guest is. I do really love podcasts and listen to something every day, whether one of these education pods or more general news sources.
I have a couple of new podcasts to add to the list. Joshua Swartz and William Illingworth’s HiTech Podcast focuses on educational technology in higher education, and their latest episode addresses TurnItIn, a much-used plagiarism-checker. If you like chatty, informal discussions of ed tech, this one might be right up your alley.
Another always-excellent ed tech resource is Jeremy Caplan’s Wondertools, and - bonus - he narrates each of his posts so you can listen or read.
Christine Tully’s latest podcast episode on peer review arrived at exactly the right moment, as I was just a little bit late with submitting a review. Seeing this pop into my inbox was just the boost I needed to complete the review, and Christine’s tips were so helpful to getting it done. Check out the episode below or the Defend & Publish website for more resources.
Last new podcast: Centering Centers is a POD Network podcast that focuses on higher education faculty development through interviews with Centers of Teaching and Learning staff from a wide range of colleges & universities. If you’re interested in the work of faculty/educational development, or just enjoy thoughtful conversations with people who love working with faculty, this is a great one to try.
